Call for Art
I only have eyes for you
UNDERSTORY announces a call for art with the theme of eyes. Artists and creatives working in all mediums are invited to submit original work. Selected works will be featured in a holiday exhibition at UNDERSTORY in Cleveland, Ohio, from November 29, 2024 to January 19, 2025.
This isn’t your typical holiday show. As the season fills with holiday cheer, twinkling lights, and winter wonderlands, we’re seeing things differently—and we want you to, as well! For this one-of-a-kind show, we’re spotlighting a captivating subject: the eye.
We invite artists to submit works that creatively, cleverly, or prominently feature one or more eyes. Whether it’s abstract, realistic, conceptual, or functional —anything goes as long as an eye is at the focus.
Submission Guidelines
- You may enter up to five submissions.
- Each submission must include a title, image(s), dimensions, medium, price (or NFS), hanging/display requirements, and a brief description or project statement.
- Artworks may be any medium including sculpture, painting, installation, mixed and expanded media, ceramics, fiber, and functional art.
- We are also accepting collections and editions.
- Artworks are not required to be for sale.
- If work is for sale, artist retains 75% of sale price.
- Open to artists age 18+.
- Not all works will be accepted into the exhibition.
- No submission fees.
Guidelines for accepted works
- Artwork must be ready to installed or displayed.
- No sawtooth hangers for 2D works.
- Frames are not required for works on paper. We can hang with magnets.
- We reserve the right to not display your work if it is different than your submission.
- We provide insurance while work is in the exhibition.
- You must deliver and pick up your work from the gallery.

- Deadline for Submissions: November 3, 2024 @ 11:59 pm Eastern
- Notification of Acceptance: On or before November 10, 2024
- Work drop-off: Nov 20 or 23, 2024 or by appointment
- Exhibition Dates: Nov 29, 2024-Jan 19, 2025

- Small Business Saturday: November 30, 2024
- Holiday Bazaar (Saturday): December 14, 2025
- Holiday Bazaar (Sunday): December 15, 2024
- Third Friday: December 20, 2025
- Third Friday: January 17, 2025
If you want eyes on your work, this is the show for you. Thousands of people will visit UNDERSTORY starting on Black Friday and continuing into January 2025.
