UNDERSTORY is accepting exhibition proposals from artists and curators with a connection to Northeast Ohio. A connection means the exhibiting artist(s) or curator are located in the area, lived here, or the theme of the exhibition is relevant to the area.

Additional Information

• UNDERSTORY offers approximately 900 ft of wall space and 360 sq ft of floor space for exhibitions.
• UNDERSTORY does not charge an application or exhibition fee.
• Exhibitions are typically scheduled for six weeks and span two THIRD FRIDAY events at 78th Street Studios.
  
• Any exhibited work may be for sale, but is not required to be for sale.
• UNDERSTORY creates an exhibition-specific agreement with the exhibition's lead artist or curator. Each agreement details exhibition responsibilities, including planning, coordination, marketing, promotion, curation, administration, installation, de-installation, sales, and commissions.

UNDERSTORY is a dynamic artist-run exhibition space nestled within the vibrant arts complex of 78th Street Studios, located in Cleveland, Ohio. UNDERSTORY provides a unique platform for artists to experiment with innovative projects outside the confines of traditional commercial galleries or institutional spaces. Situated amidst over 80 creative businesses within the 78th Street Studios, our venue thrives on the energy of this artistic hub. Each month, we participate in the THIRD FRIDAY Art Walk at 78th Street Studios which attracts hundreds of art-interested visitors, offering artists exposure and engagement with a diverse audience. UNDERSTORY provides an ideal space to amplify your artistic vision and connect with a vibrant art community.
