Video calls, smartphone interactions, and virtual communications fill my life. These technologies intended to connect often leave me feeling isolated and disembodied. My work emerges from a longing for embodied connection. By integrating mindfulness, technology, and interactivity, I seek to create shared, embodied experiences that bridge the physical distances between viewers. Drawing on phenomenological principles, What We Share That We Cannot See emphasizes the body’s role in how we engage with the world. Using the transmission and reception of live bodily rhythms between participants, my work highlights the fundamental similarities that connect us all, fostering moments of shared presence. Through these feedback loops, I aim to cultivate mindfulness in viewers, encouraging them to recognize their innate similarities with others, regardless of physical separation.
